Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has said that he will soon send the second installment of funds to make temporary housing for Jajarkot earthquake victims.
In the meeting of the National Concerns and Coordination Committee under the National Assembly on Thursday, Home Minister Shrestha informed that out of the 50,000 rupees to be given for the construction of temporary housing for the earthquake victims, 25,000 will be given in cash in the first installment.
He said that the remaining Rs 25,000 will also be given through the bank as soon as the housing construction starts.
Home Minister Shrestha said that only 5 billion rupees are needed for the construction of temporary housing. According to him, he will discuss with the donor countries and the donor agencies after making the figures regarding the reconstruction.
In the meeting, Secretary of Home Ministry Dinesh Bhattarai informed that 1,634 tents, 41,402 tripals, 31,654 banquets, 13,492 mattresses and 2,485 sleeping bags have been sent to Jajarkot.
He said 803 tents, 22 thousand 250 tripals, 6 thousand 17 blankets, 5 thousand 201 pifums and 1 thousand 314 sleeping bags were sent to Rukum West.
So far, 55 million rupees have been sent to Jajarkot, 55 million rupees in Rukum West, 25 million rupees in Bajhang, 14 million rupees in Bajura, and 2 million rupees in Salyan.
Due to the earthquake, 9,794 houses and 24,000 houses were partially damaged in Jajarkot. Similarly, in Rukum West, 16 thousand 570 houses were completely damaged and 9 thousand 961 houses were partially damaged.
Similarly, 150 houses were damaged in Rukum East, 600 in Salyan, 100 in Rolpa and 31 in Pyuthan.
